LYELL

Lyell is saying goodbye for now...
MAY 3rd, 2010

So after seven years and with a lease that is running out,
I have decided to say goodbye for now. Lyell is my heart and soul. I couldn't have come as far as I have come with out all the loyal support that I've received over the years. However, it is time now to take break.

As of today we are starting our closeout sale with all styles now 40-60% off. This includes new styles that have just arrived and even more coming over the next couple weeks. The sale will continue until we run out of stock over the next month.

Love
Emma

biyan//sense//09/10

Photobucket

Biyan is an Indonesian fashion designer I've never heard of before, but i'm really lovin his 'sense' line. Its main inspiration is the pasar or the traditional market (he even name dropped the traditional Sukawati market which isn't very far from where i live) and, well, they all look like stands in a market. These are simple silhouette that reminds me of the clothes women wore in old pictures, but now with fancy modern tailoring and nice pop-ish prints that reminds you of batik in a weird way. The colors are also very fruitful, the beads and jewels reminds me of old ladies parading with their jewelries and the make up reminds me so much of Kartini and women in her era. Some of these even reminds me of miu miu, marc jacobs and marni, especially. Such a shame these pictures are bad though.

kill bill

twisted nerves//Bernard Herrmann

(i love kill bill so much)

i love listening to this song and picturing Leah, the 21-year-old protagonist of my recurring dreams, playing the flute (because in my head it sounds like a flute?) in a kimono beside a pond and having flashbacks of the rivalry between her and an unnamed antagonist with strawberry blonde hair just doing stuff (mostly sword fighting/chemistry class experiments) and by the climax of the story they actually fall in love and, well, it never ends

Valentino rtw10

I watched the Valentino documentary about his work and the brand last year and I thought he was really iconic person but personally I don't really like the brand, at least most of the time. Though this line is the bomb diggity- I really really like it. It was soooo romantic and it looked really deep and pretty, opposing to the real glamorous and artificial (and boring) Valentino in the past (at least when he himself was still the head, and to the extent of my knowledge). It's very classy. It was mostly lace, white and soft colors with some of the clothes goth-like with leather, fishnet-looking fabric and dark lace, and also the oh-so famous Valentino red. Lots of lace. The fur was a bit weird and sometimes the frills were to much. really liked what Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri did
i really liked the butterfly though, its really funny to me and it looks really italian.

ill be never good at this/
(EDIT- this was an old post)
